In this chapter, miss maudies house is set on fire. This cause a whole new mystery for jem and scout. How was the fire set? Who would do such a thing to miss maudie? What is the reasoning behind this all? Well, we don’t know however on page 80-81, miss maudie says, “I hated that old barn. Thought of setting fire to it a hundred times myself.” This shows she isn’t hurt in anyway shape or form.

You are aware of the events of this chapter but you must form a closer reading in order to be sure the events you relay are accurate. For instance, Maudie tells us that she is responsible for the fire.
The bigger mystery here is: how did Boo Radley put a blanket around Scout in the cold and she not notice him?
